Day of Life #8

Doctors had no choice but to perform a life-saving operation at Madeline's bedside, she had an ever increasing amount of fluid building up inside her abdomen, and the pressure was preventing circulation and respiration. A large amount of fluid was removed, she is currently having a drain installed to be able to remove fluid as it accumulates further, so the doctors do not have to repeatedly go in increasing risk of infection even further. When she is stable, they will also be surgically installing another central line to have access to blood and provide nourishment and medication.

We are still unsure of the cause, doctors say it could either be either from ascitic fluid buildup from an infection, or fluid from a misplaced IV line. She is more stable than she was, but still very critical.
