Day of Life #48

A slightly earlier post today!
Madeline is telling the doctors she wants out soon! Madeline has taken her full bottle today at 3 am, 6 am, 9 am and 12 pm- They kicked mom out for 3 pm shift change but we are hoping she will take it! Her doctor today says if she takes the rest of her bottles today we can take the NG tube out for a test run- if she does not do well we can put it back in but if she does then..hooray!

She must have broke the blood pressure machine too because it's not working anymore and they brought her a new, mobile one- Her blood pressures have been getting lower- they are looking for that right balance of meds that will keep her stable/under control and get her home.

I spoke alot with her doctor today about her long term care, she is definitely going to need close attention and lots of follow up appointments, weekly weight checks, renal panels, visits to nephrology, visits with a physical therapist, etc. As she grows/changes she will let us know what kind of care she will be needing.

Tomorrow she gets another renal panel and we are very hopeful that perhaps she will have a miraculous change and her creatinine will be down a lot- It's unlikely but it would be great if it happened! Keep the prayers up!

We are so thankful for the positive things that are going on right now. I feel very hopeful for a trip home soon !

Adalee- Mom and dad are bunking in today in the 'transition room' to see how everything goes overnight with mom and dad and baby in one room- If all goes well she will go home Tuesday! Pray for smooth sailing from here on out!

Everett- According to mom he has been weaned even more off the ventilator! At this rate let's hope he can get extubated soon! We will be sure to post exactly when so extra prayers can go out that he is stable off of it and will not have to get a tracheotomy. We visited him up in the cardiac area yesterday for the first time and boy what a cutie! We think he and Maddie would make a beautiful couple ;) If and when mom and dad are comfortable with the idea we can post a pic.

Thank you everyone for all the continued love and prayers you are sending our way and to all the babies here- we know God is answering our prayers and the prayers of others even in ways we don't understand. We are so blessed to have this support during all this time. We are definitely blessed to have met these other families and have a greater appreciation and understanding of so many things. We are so humbled before God and feel a greater closeness to Him who has brought us the wonderful blessing in Madeline.

Have a great day all.
