Day of Life #51

Hello everyone! See anything different in madeline's pictures? If you guessed she has no NG tube- you would be correct! The dr's decided to take it out and give her a whirl today! Turns out she has done pretty good so far- they are happy as long as she balances out for a total feed volume- so if she takes 65 cc one feed and 105 cc the next feed they are happy as long as she will get the total amount she needs for the day- So they are pretty happy so far- - - -

She has been pretty
crabby today but after a huge diaper she seems to be feeling a lot better so that's good--

Her BP also seems to be under control- hooray! they are trying to decrease her meds at this point and get her on a schedule that will be easier for us to manage at home.

We are hoping to be home early next week! The dr's would like to monitor her BP a little more as well as her feeds, possibly another MRI and another Ultrasound on her liver to see if the hematoma has shrunk ...So things are on their way~! There will still be lots of follow up, close monitoring and probably a kidney transplant in her future but overall she is doing well - we are so thankful to God and everyone for all of their prayers!

OTHER GOOD NEWS!!

Everett is off the ventilator and seems to be doing well! Mom and everett are cuddling in pic to the left here <--- ! This is the first time ever mom and dad have been able to hold baby Everett-This moment has been a long time coming! Congrats mom and dad! He is on a nasal canula and is doing well. Pray he maintains and does not have to be reintubated, or have a tracheotomy. Pray for continued recovery- Dad shared today that many babies in his position have about a 5% chance of recovery -Everett has overcome those odds already! We coined the name 'everlasting everett' Goes well with Miracle Maddie doesn't it? Keep Everett and his family in your prayers- Pray for complete recovery!

Adalee- Went home last night- Hooray! We are going to stay in touch with her parents to try to get updates! We will keep you posted on her progress!

God Bless all!
