Day of Life #157- Keep Truckin-Adalee and Becker Family Updates

Good Evening All
I know it has been a little bit over my usual weekly update but things have been quite busy here - I will try to be more on top of things for next time!

Things have been pretty calm around here for once! Madeline continues to have physical therapy and occupational therapy visit-overall it seems like she's doing well- We are hoping she will roll over soon- it is a little frustrating with other babier her age or younger rolling over- but we have to remember that the other babies haven't been through what she has and that also all babies do things in their own time. The physical therapist says that considering her APGAR score was like 0- when she was born she is doing very well

She seems to be doing just fine at daycare. Her daycare provider is really nice and awesome and understanding. She reports that Madeline is very calm and a content baby- We are glad she is adjusting so well- Lucky Madeline even gets infant massage as our daycare provider is trained in it! Of course we miss her terribly - I think the adjustment has been harder on us than Madeline-

Madeline is sleeping 10-12 hours a night these days so she is getting her beauty rest!

She goes back to nephrology on Monday so hopefully she will have gained weight and her blood levels will be ok ...

No news around here is good news!

We wanted to update about our other  NICU friends as well.

Adalee did go back into the NICU this past week after her parents had to do CPR on her and she was life flighted to Cleveland Clinic. In the end it was decided that Adalee too would get a gtube- If I understand correctly normally the doctors would like babies to be 8lbs but in her case they really wanted to get it addressed. The surgery was today and it went well! They actually found out that she had a malrotated bowel and the surgeon was able to fix that as well. The recovery will be a while (3 weeks in the hospital) so please pray for a good recovery and for strength for mom and dad as they endure another long hospital stay.

Becker family-
We have stayed in close contact with Baby Everett's parents. They have found ways each day to celebrate the time they had with baby Everett. They recently were able to get his headstone and they are participating in candle light memorials through a local non profit that works with people who have lost someone. Despite the tragedy they experienced they are working hard to cope and heal.

We are very inspired by both of these families who have had more than their fair share to deal with in the last few months. It is amazing how strong you can be come in such difficult situations!

We are looking forward to this holiday season (Madeline's first Christmas!) -and as always are extremely thankful for the love and kindness around us- and especially for our sweet babe. Praise to God for our wonderful blessings.

Take Care All!
