Christmas Gift and more

I really need to be better about updating this..

Since we spoke.. Madeline left the hospital (that Wednesday) - She finished up much of her evaluation- Just a few minor things remaining-

And she was home for Christmas which was very nice- We have some other friends who were in the hospital for Christmas.. having been in the hospital for other holidays- we know how frustrating that can be.

I finished up a lot of my evaluation as well, did blood tests, met with Social Work, Kidney Dr, Chest Xray, EKG, and did CT Scan with dye- Everything seemed ok except my Urine which had too much protein- I am told this can be a sign of the kidney's not working well- So we did the test again- again there was protein- so he had me do a 24 hr urine test- which meant collecting my urine for 24 hrs. I know TMI! but it was all for the good.. It was pretty interesting finding ways to keep that stuff cold all day- My friends were all laughing at me..  :)

We anxiously awaited news to hear if I was a match or not before Christmas but unfortunately results did not come in..

Then on Dec 26th we found out that 1. My urine was fine! Must have been a fluke or attributed to the working out I have been doing (i was told that exercise can cause protein in urine).. but more exciting..2- I AM A MATCH!!

Praise God! What a relief to know that I can give my daughter a Kidney..

I still have to be cleared by a surgeon and donor advocate- but hopefully nothing will come up there- Our case also has to go in front of a committee and be approved- The committee meets twice a month

therefore we are anticipating another month of process to go through,,,,

Our latest discussion with her dr. leads us to believe that perhaps this could happen in spring as they like to avoid respiratory virus season ---but if we need to do this sooner we will- -and if she is still 'maintaining' in spring then I suppose we wait? I am not sure..

Monday ( tomorrow) I am scheduled to meet with the Donor Advocate and Surgeon which are the last steps in my evaluation process before it goes to committee to be approved (next committee is January 24th) -I can't imagine  I would not be cleared by any of these people..

Madeline is also almost finished with her evaluation -She goes to a hemotologist on January 21 to see if her blood clot issue is legitimate- if it is again we would need to remove the kidneys 6 weeks prior to receiving the new kidney- let's pray that is not the case. ..

Otherwise things are pretty low key.. . trying to catch up on many things we are behind on and wrap up loose ends- we are hopeful that 2013 will have more positives --

Check out Madeline's new videos-- there is on of her TUMBLING <--- click ... and also one at New Years.. we like to call it.. the MADDIE CAM <--- click here-  she is such a joy she makes us so happy....also see one of our fall pics we finally got back...
