Day of Life #22- Update/Prayer request

Good evening all-

Quick update- We did the kangaroo care today which was very exciting! Madeline was so excited she slept the entire time haha. We were also able to feed her a bottle with 5 ml at 8 pm tonight. She was finally able to remember how to suck on a bottle and she did not puke so we think that is good. We will see how the rest of the night goes. The head nurse said they would think about letting us give her the bottle 2 times tomorrow. The Dr. told me today that down the road, in order to be able to go home she would need to be able to drink and tolerate 80 cc's of breast milk and not throw up every 3 hrs to be able to go home so it's a while away but hopefully they can increase what she's getting and see how things go. Her urine output was pretty good today- it sounds like she increased a little today so that is good. We were also able to put a little onesie on her today -very exciting! We took a pic but it was blurry so I won't post.

Now onto the prayer request.. Please, Please, Please pray for Adalee- This lovely little lady really needs a miracle. In hearing her dad talk today we were truly humbled. He also shares the same faith as us and despite the very grave situation they face he has put total trust in God and is accepting whatever God has planned for their family. After hearing what they are facing and seeing how rock solid their faith is I was even more inspired to not get down at all and be thankful for every little thing we have. They are having to make some very tough choices regarding their daughter's care and quality of life - ones that we have not had to face and we are just amazed by their strength! This is a beautiful family and we are praying so hard for God to bring down his healing hand and do what humans cannot and restore this baby to 100%. God we pray that if it is your will that Adalee would be healed despite what anyone may say - we know you have the power to do anything that is in your will. Please watch over and take care of this family.

Thanks all- Much Love

  1. We laughed at Madeline sleeping through, wetting her nappy (Bravo Maddie!), and we wish we could have seen her in her onesie!
We were sad to hear about Adalee and can only imagine such strength in the face of this kind of hardship.
Let them continue to lean on you God for this family needs you so very much!
Thank you as always for updates!
