Not too much to give update on today. Madeline's urine output continues to be good, about 5cc per kilo per hr -which is great. Her Creatinine level has risen again- but again they do not seem too concerned because the rate is slow. She still seems very crabby and uncomfortable this morning, she continues to cry. The nurse discussed having a specialist come and working with her on her feedings on Monday. Initially they thought she may have Thrush and that may have been causing her aversion to the nipple/bottle, but that does not seem to be the case. Hopefully the specialist will be able to help her with her feedings. Since we last tried yesterday at 9pm, they have just been giving her the feedings through the NG tube. However at noon they are going to try to let us breast feed, they did say not to expect her to latch on or take it, but that it would be a good bonding experience for us. So we will see.
Thanks all for everything- hopefully we will have something more positive to share later on.
God Bless
Thoughts and prayers continues! I would be crabby too if I was in hospital! Hoping all went well when breastfeeding! Being held by her Mum and Dad is bound to make Madeline feel a whole lot better!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
I hope so much that you will be able to nurse her. I am sure that it would be beneficial for both of you
