Day 53, Madeline lost a little more weight last night. 5 grams, essentially that is the same weight, maybe the difference of a poop in the diaper. She had some spikes in her blood pressure, low and high yesterday, that is probably due to the tweaks they did to her medication, moving her up to 16mg from 12, but spacing it at every 8 hours instead of every 6, hopefully that will normalize over the weekend. We're still also tweaking her feeds, today mom is going to breastfeed exclusively and see how she does on that. Yesterday she breastfed and we had to pull Maddie off after 25 minutes, so yeah, we're excited. Hoping for another good day, she spent the better part of the morning snuggling with dad. Keep the prayers going, hopefully we'll get home next week.
On a side note, we got an update from Charlie's family, he seems to be doing well at home, moving around and having a good time. We pray they continue to make great progress.
An update on Adalee, she is home and doing well, no apnic episodes. Continue to pray for her family as well.
Finally, the Beckers. Everrett's lung has partially re-inflated and he got a small reprieve from the CPAP and was able to have a few minutes without it irritating him, his dad said he was calm and stopped crying for a little bit. We've been working with a woman from our church to try and help find them a house to stay in so they are no longer around smokers in their condo complex. As we posted yesterday, we've setup a donation site for them as our friend Nikki did for us, to help them raise some money to put down a security deposit and first month's rent on a new place. They have a long road to go down still, like many of the families here, hopefully we can help relieve some of the burden as others have done for us.
With love,
The Sommer family.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos and Love and hugs to everyone!
ReplyDeleteKeep going Madeline!!
What a beautiful little girl! One question though - why did you pull her off after 25 minutes? Wouldn't it be better to let her feed for as long as she wants? Or did the doctors say to?
