Rest in Peace Everett

Good Evening Everyone-

We are sad to share that Everett has passed away. We received a call this morning from Everett's parents asking us to come say goodbye. We do not know the details of what occurred that led to his passing but we do know that things became worse overnight ultimately leading to his passing. When my husband and I came to the hospital we were able to see Everett, Mom and Dad prior to his passing. They were surrounded by loving family and friends as well. There was an organization there called 'Lay me down to sleep' that was able to take pictures for the family after all of his lines were removed and he was dressed in an outfit mom and dad chose for him. We feel blessed that we were able to see him and say goodbye and share our condolences with the family.

We are very heartbroken for this family. We have truly bonded over these months in the nicu/picu and we will always be there for them. We struggle tonight with our feelings over what seems so unfair. We don't always understand why God allows things to happen/not happen- but ultimately we trust there is a reason and know that he loves us and loves this family and especially loves baby Everett. We feel confident that he is in Heaven and is waiting patiently to reunite with his family some day.

The family is grieving tonight, please say prayers of peace and healing for their broken hearts.
