Good News today!

Madeline gained 20 g overnight- her renal panel also showed her creatinine went down to 3.8 from 4.2 the other day. However, the doctor stated he still feels like she needs to make more improvements. They want to see her gain even more weight- They are going to start her on the polycose and canola oil today. They did look at options of using coconut oil but they did not feel that it was a viable option-for now they are going to do what they planned. I am disappointed but I am hoping this is only a short term that she will be on this- When she gets home, if she still needs it we will switch to our preference.

Her Nicardipine drip is also completely off. So right now they will hep lock it (which is just like keeping the line in but blocking it off so nothing goes in or out) until they know for sure she won’t have to go back on anything- and then they can take the broviac tube out.

She is iron deficient and they want to start her back on this epo medicine- It is supposed to help with iron and growth too.

Adalee- She has a few apnic episodes (where she stops breathing momentarily) over the last several days. Pray that these would discontinue- the doctors say she has to go 5 days without having one to be able to go home. Also pray that she would continue to gain weight!

Everett- I believe he had a special kind of feeding tube installed around last week because he was puking so much- I think it is called a core pack- from what I read on mom’s facebook it sounds like it is going well- Continue prayers for healing!

We are thankful for the improvements today- Cannot wait until the next renal panel in two days- hoping the creatinine is even lower! Avoid dialysis at all costs!
